Petty Offenses

In Florida most petty offenses are just classified as misdemeanor offenses.  There is still a petit theft charge in Florida.  Petit theft is a misdemeanor, but it is classified as “petit” whenever it is less than $300.  However, upon a third petit theft charge it can become a felony theft charge exposing a person to a maximum of five years in prison.  It is important to speak to a Tallahassee Criminal Defense Attorney to see what you can do to try and avoid petit convictions.
